Misakae Air Conditioners

The Australian importer is apparently no longer in business (2008).
They were apparently manufactured by Chigo in China. Chigo is a large company that manufactures many different brands.
The 2.5HP (7kw) units have a problem with the soft starter. This is the white box with 4 connections located above the compressor. If the unit fails replace it with the later model black unit. You can purchase these from Domain Air, Factory 2/9 Kelletts Rd, Rowville VIC 3178, 1300 438 266

WinXP SP3 and Realtex HD Audio

Installed WinXP SP3 on a new Gigabyte M61SME-S2 Mobo and could not get the sound to work. Turns out you have to install the Microsoft UAA driver first but there is a catch here - the MS driver refuses to install on SP3. Here's what to do:
1. Change the CSDVersion registry key to XP SP2:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\CSDVersion value=200
2. Restart the PC
3. Install KB888111xpsp2.exe (download from MS Download) then install your Realtek driver.
4. Change the CSDVersion key back to XP SP3 again:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\CSDVersion value=300
5. Restart the PC, finalise audi settings.
